Kick-off CMP's third year with our great community of film-anthropists and a great project we have been supporting since Good Pitch Chicago!
CMP is delighted to welcome back the GPC15 film ALMOST SUNRISE for the Chicago premiere on Thursday, September 8th. The film tells the story of two veterans from Milwaukee who embark on an extraordinary journey -- a 2,700 mile walk across the country from Wisconsin to California -- in order to reflect on their haunting experiences of war and ultimately, to save themselves.
The filmmakers, film subjects, and stakeholders around these issues will join us for two additional events related to the film and veterans' mental health and healing on Friday, September 9th: a "brain trust" roundtable luncheon between policymakers, veterans advocates, and others; and a meditation session led by film subject Tom Voss focused on the guided breathing exercises that have brought him hope and healing.
