Mothers For Justice tells the story of Maria Hamilton after her son, Dontre, a black, unarmed, man diagnosed with schizophrenia is shot 14 times and killed by a Milwaukee police officer in a popular downtown park. Despite tragedy and mounting personal pressures, Maria rallies her family and grieving mothers from across the country to join her in a fight for answers, justice and reform as Dontre’s case unfolds.

Erik Ljung

Erik Ljung is a documentary filmmaker and journalist currently based in the midwest. He has directed and filmed short documentaries for the New York Times, VICE News, Al Jazeera, PBS and the Wall Street Journal. In 2014 he worked on an Emmy award winning commercial campaign, and has produced for the Emmy nominated television program, Wisconsin Foodie. He is a two-time Brico Forward Fund recipient.
