Area 2 is a documentary exploring the Chicago Police torture saga through the stories of a broad spectrum of people connected to it, many of whom have never shared their extraordinary perspective before.
James graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in psychology and history, and moved to Chicago in 2002 to study and perform improvisational comedy. He wrote and directed a comedy mini-series that appeared on Chicago Access Network-TV and numerous sketch comedy videos that have won several Chicago-area competitions. His screenplay The Buzzkills, was a finalist in the 2011 PAGE International Screenwriting Contest. This is his first documentary film.
Joshua has his bachelors in sociology from Brandeis University. For the past 10 years, he has worked in lighting, camera, sound, and scenic departments and has produced digital, broadcast, live-stream, and commercial content. He has also produced two short documentaries -- Then & Now, about Tessa Venell’s incredible recovery from a traumatic brain injury and Everything She Says Means Everything, about photographer Spencer Tunick’s protest installation at the 2016 Republican National Convention. In addition to documentary, Josh has produced numerous comedy videos and a comedy series called “Home-Office.” This is his first feature-length documentary.
