On June 26, 2014 members of the Chicago Media Project joined director Anne de Mare in a private screening of The Homestretch, a documentary film that explores the lives of three homeless teens in Chicago. Attendees were invited to watch the film in a private screening room, followed by a Q&A with the film’s director, individuals in the film, and other contributors to the documentary. Guests were able to ask questions about the filmmaking process, plans for distribution, and the next steps to take in order to alleviate the problem of youth homelessness in Chicago and across the country. The screening granted members unique access to the filmmakers and producers of The Homestretch in order to learn ways in which to help with the continued success of the film. The film received great feedback from those in the audience. We look forward to hosting more screenings in the future!
